Empire State Games...shuffle off to Buffalo for 2010?

The Buffalo News has a great story about the potential return of the summer Empire State Games to Buffalo next summer.

Contrary to last summer's bombshell that the games could only go off with a $285 fee per athlete, the new plan involves a small registration fee, $10 or $15 for the different level athletes. That's a small sum to pay for an athletes exposure to college scouts as well as the entire experience.

Games director Fred Smith said he is moving forward with the plans and once again crossing his fingers that the 2010 New York State budget would re-include funding for the games to the tune of $1.7 million.

Check out the full story from the Buffalo News here.
