NYS Crew: Gold toes

I'm definately not one to knock superstitions from any athlete, but Saratoga Rowing Association senior and Marist-bound rower Morgan Moore had one of the best this weekend at the NYS Scholastic Rowing Championships on Fish Creek.

She has a tradition of painting her toenails gold for each regatta she has raced in...all but one.

"The one time I painted my toes silver I came in second in a single," Moore said. "I will never do it again."

It paid off this weekend when her girls junior eight earned a gold medal and a trip to the Scholastic Rowing Association of America national championships in two weeks.

You can bet there may be a toe-painting party the night before championships with this boat.
