Ergs don't float!

It's a comment often heard about the grueling task of rowing a 2k (2,000) meters on a mechanical version of hell that all rowers must face in any boathouse, the ergometer.

Here a boys team warms up before taking to the water Thursday afternoon at the SRAAs in West Windsor, NJ on Mercer Lake.

A person's erg score, how long it takes them to pull or row 2,000-meters is considered a key measurement by peers and coaches. For those who detest the machine and what it represents detest the sport's version of the rack.

Me, I haven't pulled a meter on an erg or rowed a boat. Both have been suggested as important tasks for me to take up. Thanks guys!
