MAR - Game 7: Kingsbridge 11, Wilton 1

CLIFTON PARK - The Wilton Cal Ripken 11-year-old stars were the first squad of the Mid-Atlantic Regional 40/60 tournament to lose by 10 runs or more, invoking the pool play "mercy rule" at the hands of the Metro New York champion, Kingsbridge, 11-1.

Kingsbridge saw Henry Miller hit a three-run home run in the top of the second inning for a three-run lead before Wilton added to its demise, committing three errors, leading to two additional runs in the same stanza.

The Knights pounded out four more runs on just one hit in the subsequent third inning before putting the contest in the 10-run danger zone with two runs in the fourth.

More details to follow later this evening.
