Diary of a Mad Sportswriter

Stan Hudy is a sportswriter for The Saratogian and Community News. He covers high school and youth sports in the Saratoga County area as well as writing a weekly book review on sports books. He's not just a "stick and ball" sportswriter, he's willing to take on any sport as well as any subject.

Rain takes out tonight's racing card

Rain now becomes a four-letter word for the next four months, sidelining a variety of sporting events and car racing is no different.

The rain is expected to move in throughout the afternoon, canceling tonight's race card at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway.

Friday's GlenRidge Motorsports Park racing card is still on as of noon.

The Section II crew championships will go on as scheduled on the Mohawk River in Niskayuna. Rain won't stop these rowers, but a thunderstorm will bring everything to a halt.

Now my plan is crew this afternoon and some web work after that with crew again on Saturday.
