Murky football playoff picture released

The Section II football playoffs gained a sharper picture Friday night with the final night of regular season contests and gained even more clarity Saturday afternoon, that unfortunately took out the Saratoga Springs squad.

But then rumors, allegations and several investigations were uncovered and the Class A football picture starting to get fuzzy.

The question surrounds Lansingburgh running back Nyquan McGirt who has run all over the opposition with almost 700 yards and nine touchdowns. He played last year at Catholic Central, a non-powerhouse and then transferred to Lansingburgh High. There is a question of whether his residence was within Troy city limits.

The question was raised early last week and clarified enough to satisfy the matter, allowing him to play Friday night in a win over Glens Falls. Today, the Section II Executive Committee will take up the matter and make an official decision.

If deemed an illegal transfer, Lansingburgh would have to forfeit all games McGirt competed in, with the exception of the single game versus Glens Falls.

Here is a look at this weekend's playoff picture, all in HD, but just plain antenna for the Class A division until a final decision is made...
