Ballston Spa upends Troy, 34-21

Here is a combined list of live updates from Saturday's Ballston Spa at Troy High Section II Class AA quarterfinal game that I uploaded via my Blackberry on the sidelines...

Always interesting, 34-21 BSpa over Troy
Troy went to the air six times on seven plays late in the fourth quarter, cutting the Ballston Spa lead, 34-21 with 1:02 left.

Ballston ready to advance, 34-14
Ballston Spa defense stepped up again to crush Troy's hopes in the playoffs.
With the Flying Horses driving, Scotties linebacker Matt Clark drilled Troy quarterback Zach Dolan to force a fumble. John Ohmnsman recovered the ball at midfield.
Ballston Spa then drove 51 yards on six plays, including a 33-yard run around the right side by Eric Marciano to set up Steve Duncan's fourth score of the day. This time from 7-yards out with 2:57 left in the game and ahead 34-14.

Troy pulls closer, 21-14
Ballston Spa held Troy from scoring from its own goal line midway through the third quarter, but the Horses found the promised land to open the fourth.
Troy quarterback Zach Dolan ran in from the 7-yard line, cutting the score, 21-14.

Bspa up 21-7
Steve Duncan just ran 68-yards on the opening drive of the second half for a 21-7 Ballston Spa lead.

Ballston Spa up 14-7 at half
Ballston Spa put up two touchdowns on the road at Troy High Saturday afternoon before the Flying Horses answered in the closing minute of the first half.

Scottie senior back Steve Duncan scored both times for Ballston Spa.

He turned the left corner on the Troy defense for a 21-yard score with 4:29 left in the first quarter.

Troy responded with a strong drive that was negated on a fumble, recovered by Ballston Spa's Cameron Staulters on the 20-yard line.

The Scotties engineered a 13-play 80-yard drive capped by Duncan's one-yard plunge from the goal line three minutes into the second half.

Troy found its way on the next drive, seeing Elijah Rush have success on the left side of the ball, running seven times for 33 yards of a 58-play scoring drive. He would end the Flying Horses scoring drought with a four-yard run over the left side.

Troy's Rush has 61 yards on 12 carries and a score at the half.

Ballston Spa's Duncan has 72-yards and two scores on nine touches.
