Phils start title defense today

It's good to back at a Saratoga Phillies game at East Side Rec here in Saratoga Springs.
Other assignments and a road-heavy second half schedule for the Phils has kept me away. Thanks to my Saratogian counterparts for filling in during my time at other events.
The defending NYCBL champions, Saratoga Phillies, begin their title defense in the first round against the Watertown Wizards.
Due to a field conflict, Watertown will play two contests today at East Side Rec. Normally, the higher seed would host the first and third game of the best-of-three series. With the Watertown field unavailable on Tuesday, the Wizards face Saratoga at home in a twi-night doubleheader.
Watertown holds a 3-2 series advantage over Saratoga this season, but the Wizards haven't faced Phillies ace Mike Fiers (University of Cumberlands). Fiers is 5-1 with a 1.99 ERA and threw a no-hitter this season at Amsterdam.
Watertown sends Ryan Quiqley out. Quigley is winless in seven appearances with a 4.43 ERA.
Both games are slated as nine inning regulation contests.
