Phils up 5-0 through six vs. Bennington

The Saratoga Phillies bats took a little time off between contests Wednesday night waiting until the third inning to push across two runs. Saratoga added three more in the fifth for a 5-0 lead.

Phillies starter, Louie Bernardini was in control, allowing only three hits through five innings of work.

In the third, Donnie Webb (Oaklahoma State) reached on an error by the second baseman and then promptly stole two bases. After Brian Harris (Vanderbilt) walked, Siena junior Jake Willis extended his hitting streak to 10 games, driving in Webb. Bryan Rose (Kentucky) drove in Harris with a single to left for the 2-0 lead.

In the fourth, Eric Walker (Oklahoma State) reached on a one-out single to right. Corey Hunt (Virginia) reached on a hit by pitch and Donnie Webb loaded the bases with a single to left.
Brian Harris knocked an RBI single to left to score Walker. Jake Willis drove in Hunt with a sacrifice fly to left field. Jon Nicolla (Duke) drove in Webb with his strike to left for a 5-0 Phillies lead.

Bennington starter Dan Bosley lasted four innings, giving up five runs, three of them earned. He gave up six hits, walked four and struck out one.
He was lifted for Josh Willmott (UAlbany).
